How to set up your first cardano wallet
1) Download a VESPR wallet
Click the below button on your mobile phone and install the app using iOS or Android
2) Secure your SEED PHRASE (Do this at home)
Your Seed Phrase is a series of 12, 15, or 24 words that keep your wallet secure from unauthorized access. If anyone ever gains access to these words, they will gain access to all of your wallet’s function and can irreversibly move all of your funds and assets. You should treat these words exactly as you would your physical wallet or purse with dollars in it.
DO NOT EVER ALLOW ANYONE TO SEE YOUR SEED PHRASE
Do not complete this step until you are at home or in a secure area where no one can see or record you writing this phrase down. Then be sure to secure it in an area where only you have access to it.
This mobile wallet you have created is meant to be an introduction to Web 3 use on the Cardano Blockchain. You will need to enroll in future courses to be able to fully understand the differences between a paper wallet, software wallet, and a hardware wallet. 3) You have now set up your Cardano Wallet.
Cardano is built with security in mind. All tokens on the Cardano Blockchain are Native Assets and are treated with the same security as ADA. Before you sign any contract or interact with any Web3 Dapp, you are able to read what that smart contract is attempting to do. If you are ever unsure about what you are signing, then don’t sign it!
